Nikkala Slipcover I started this company after I spilled a bottle of bleach on my own Nikkala sofa. My wife was not happy. I tried to buy a new slipcover but Ikea ® told me that the Nikkala sofa was discontinued last year. Even on Ebay they were only selling the really ugly colors. I did not feel like buying a new sofa and I thought it was not a good idea to let that stain sit there as a constant reminder of my clumsiness. Around that time I also happened to watch “An Inconvenient Truth”. I wanted to do something about global warming because I think it is a big problem. Suddenly I realized that making slipcovers for sofas that are out of production would help the environment. Fewer sofas would end up in landfills and less non-renewable resources would be spent on making new sofas.
